Avrio Media
Avrio Media is a company dedicated to the distribution and sale of natural gas in four Wielkopolska municipalities: Wronki, Słupca, Golina and Staw.
The first gas supply pipeline to Zakład Przemysłu Ziemniaczanego in Wronki was built in July 2006. Strong interest of local residents, despite the operation of Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo in the area, resulted in building more than 5 km of the pipeline in the towns of Biezdrowo, Pierwoszewo, Ćmachowo, Popowo, Nowa Wieś and Stare Miasto.
The company continues to seek new locations that could be supplied with gas. In 2008, it was decided to supply gas to the town and municipality of Słupca. Słupca is a district town of less than 14,000 inhabitants and a very prosperous local economy. Its unique asset is a direct exit from the A2 motorway.
In January 2011, the company acquired the status of the Distribution System Operator under the decision of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office who takes account of the operator’s economic efficiency, effectiveness of gas system management and security of gas supply. It was a very important event because at that time the company was the only one with the status of DSO outside the PGNiG Group.
In 2010, the company decided to use European funds for the expansion of gas network and therefore it was able to start supplying gas to the town and municipality of Golina. The investment perfectly fit in the existing infrastructure network due to its location along the A2 motorway and the possibility for connecting Słupca to Golina with almost 20 km of gas transmission.
Flexible approach to the customer, quick decision-making and timely investments has led the company to have today nearly 400 customers, annual sales of 6.5 million m3 of gas and nearly 100 km of medium pressure gas network. Moreover, it continues to connect new customers.
